It happened to me about 3 times that the mouse cursor got trapped in an invisible rectangle around the ruler, in the track view and PRV view. I couldn't move it out of an small area around the track ruler until I drag zoomed in/out.  I have no idea what caused it , but it happens when suddenly switch from PRV to Track view (press D).

Wireless or wired mouse?

Interestingly, can not seem to change from PRV to track view at all in platinum, was going to mention this as a bug: the PRV is unchangeably ON TOP of the track view, can not seem to see the track view at all without moving or minimizing the PRV.

[edit] this is with floating PRV, since the multidock is anathema [/edit]

I have a wired keyboard and wired mouse. It really happened only a few times and I was able to "release" my cursor by drag zooming, so its not a big deal....Just in case I went to  "performance options" and I marked the "adjust for best appearance". This setting helped me before.

Without full steps to repro one for Sonar forums I'm afraid.

One thing Chris I remember someone else having odd mouse behaviour and it transpired it was being caused by the mouse driver, which was not the default standard MS windows mouse driver.

My mouse driver was installed automatically by Windows (8.1). So ...I don't know. Anyway it seems to be broken in now because is working fine lately.
One thing I learned with Sonar is that you want to avoid any sudden movements  :)

I had a number of mouse cursor behavior oddities in Sonar. And for me it was caused by another program (WS FTP) running concurrently. No idea why but killing it and restarting Sonar solved the problem.

Or disable floating the views after undocking.
