  • [Solved] How to filter out pedal damper cc information in just one vsti? (p.2)

Can I ask if you discovered how to use the event filter negatively (or like a 'notch' filter), i.e. to filter out just the sustain CC? Or did you discover that the filter only works positively?

I'm trying to leave most CCs going to a Hammond (drawbars, Leslie, swell) but stop the sustain (which is needed for the piano but messes up the Hammond). (This is "live"; on its way to the track rather than post-processing a track.)

I think I have put the MIDI filter in the correct bin; I can choose which events are allowed through, but I don't seem to be able to choose which event is not to be let through.

Thanks.

If i recall correctly, you can drag the bar corresponding to the CC you want (up and down) to the range of values you want to pass - you can go zero to zero for example. You can have all negative, or all positive values. I often use this for wheel events to reduce the range of a wheel event for a particular synth when layering two or more synths.

Exactly. I've no problem with setting the filter up to pass an event or a range of event values; but I can't figure out if it can be set to deny or hold back a certain value (CC 64) - i.e. act as a "notch" filter.

I'm guessing that by "negative", you mean the wheel values. However, if the whole plugin has a button for act positively or act negatively then that's probably what I want; but I haven't found that functionality. There are other MIDI plugins out there that can act as a "notch" filter but I was hoping I could use the Cakewalk one.
