Does anyone have any idea of how I can disable the multidocking function completely when i don't want it?... I spend too much editing time closing or undocking things as I move them around my desktop ... it's really becoming very annoying ... further to that, when i double clik on tracks to edit, the multidock pops  open with the loop function pre loaded ... when I want things I'll SELECT THEM! until i do, i don't want things automatically happening ... GRRRRRRRR !

When you double click a track, Sonar opnes the "loop function preloaded" (loop construction)???
That's because you (when double clicking a track) give Sonar the command to do so .
What kind of editing do you want to do that needs double clicking, exept loop editing??

G.E.L. -

You are not alone. Many folks, long-time SONAR users, do not "get" the multidock, and do not see it as an improvement.

This doesn't make them stupid. About the worst you could say is that  they are unwilling to change or compromise.

In my case, I do not appreciate that the multidock is better than the window management in SONAR 8.x, and there is nothing else in the X1 release that compensates for the negative aspects of multidock, in my opinion.

The SonarPlus utility mentioned above goes quite a long way to reducing the negative aspects of the multidock. I'd say "check it out" but with X1D on the horizon, we have no guarantee that SonarPlus will be updated (it is version-specific).

hate the fact that you can't just clik on an X and close it out ...

Some people here wish there was that X for some posts too.

Seriously though G.E.L. I'm curious where you specifically read Multidock is an OPTION? Skylight is not an OPTION (AFAIK) just as Multidock is not an OPTION (AFAIK).

I get that you (and three others) don't like it but calling it somthing it is NOT is not really an OPTION, IMHO.

While we're on the subject of options, is there an option to turn the menu off. That takes far more space than the multidock does and if there isn't I'm going to do something really really bad - like laugh at one of bapu's posts.

Crikey, you had a choice: to demo it before you purchased & started using it.

stop being lazy and read the manual like the rest of us did....your complaing about a feature that was added so us professionals could spread the gui over multiple monitors.

In previous versions double clicking would bting the now marker to the point reqired and highlighted the track no? then you could split at that point or proceed to do whatever you inteded to do from that point. when one becomes accustomed over a long period of usage its annoying to do something from a learned habit and find it does something else.

A fullscreen setting would be cool.

One of the reasons I updated to X1 is because of the Multidock. I have two screens, and float the MD to the second screen and load all kinds of stuff there. I have a few suggestions to give the bakers to improve that situation, but for the most part, it is working as intended for me.

I also have another single monitor PC I use also. And for when I do work on it I find the Screen Sets to be the ticket.

Like Stickman says, your not alone. Many of us found it a PITA to "Learn/Adjust" to the new UI. But if you could just take the energy that you use to "fight it" by looking to find a way to do it the "Old Way", just try the new way. Most of us found it to be much better.

Which is what a lot of us are trying to tell you.
