Using a computer does not preclude using the most advanced technologies of humans: pencil and paper.
 
I have clipboards scattered about everywhere: office, briefcase, bedside, potty rooms, workshop,...
 
And a few boxes on the shelves in the office for sorting the many pages of notes about all kinds of stuff.
