I must be bonkers.
With different projects in either X3e or current Platinum, I am having issues with drag and drop export of midi data to the desktop.
So, I am guessing it is because I have lost my mind and am doing something wrong.
1. Highlight desired midi track, which contains numerous midi clips, all created with Step Sequencer. (if that matters)
2. Right-click on one of the highlighted clips, then click on Bounce to Clip, to create a single midi clip from all the existing clips. (result is a single clip, as expected)
3. Click again on midi track to highlight/select midi clip (which is the newly-created single clip of entire track)
4. Drag and drop midi clip to desktop. This DOES create a midi file, as expected.
5. What is NOT expected is this also resulting in the highlighted midi clip being DELETED from the midi track.
In other words, while the drag and drop does save the midi clip as an exported midi file on the desktop, it also has the highly undesired effect of deleting the midi clip from the highlighted clip for the track, effectively wiping the track of all midi data.
If I click on Edit, I can recover the clip by clicking on Undo Delete, but I certainly do not recall ever having to do this in the past.
So, can someone please either give me the correct way to accomplish the drag and drop export, or confirm that this is indeed a bug?
Again, this behavior exists in both X3e and the current Platinum, on a patch current Windows 8.1 - i7 (see specs).
