I don't really mind it much, it's just something to ignore. In this age of customization it seems odd I can't simply disable it.
I'll look into the hide modules thing though, thanks to whoever suggested that.
I wish you and the others would have another look at it. It is a truly great addition to Sonar. It also must be said the modules are of very high quality. Often when something is given to us we tend to look at it as if it has little worth. After all its free, right? In reality in this case one would be hard pressed to find better modules as third party VSTs than the ones shipping with Sonar Platinum. Plus with the extra ones offered by CW and third party developers at extra cost one can make a channel strip for nearly any purpose with the high quality we demand from our plugins.
Take a second look. Read up on them. One will realize that ignoring them is both silly and foolish. Overlooking them as a real benefit to your music production is shortchanging oneself.
I really am aware of what they are, how they work and what they can do. I like some modules and don't care for others. I can't do away with the fx bin completely because it lets me switch on and off plugs in track view on multiple tracks, I use that a lot. I don't like having to go to the inspector for everything and frankly, the fact that there is no volume fader in the PC view is a miss for me. I don't want to keep some plugs in the bin and some in the PC because that just creates confusion. I spent a lot of time figuring out what was where when I did use it.
I use the CA2A in virtually every project. I like and have used the Concrete Limiter and QuadCurve EQ (great job on that one!) but I prefer my FF ProQ2 and Pro-L, and some Waves stuff. I don't care much for the PC76 and while the gate isn't bad I don't see it as an improvement over Pro-G or even Sonitus. There are no per-module presets, there is no A/B function for settings and some modules are crippled. The module selection screen is a mess because it gets huge if you have a few extra modules (VKFX alone adds like ten). I much prefer the VST3 auto sorting Waves and FF do, or my own VST2 sorting.
In other words, there are a bunch of reasons why I'd rather not use it. That said, it isn't really "in my way" in any workflow-stopping sense. I'd just rather there were an option to put it away completely so that I don't have to think about it or rotate it out of the inspector.
