Hi. I'm ready to smash my head against the wall here. I haven't got the time for this.

I am tuning vocals for a client. Yesterday Melodyne was working perfectly. I have three more vocals to tune today and it is behaving badly. When I grab a blob to move its pitch, for some reason today it is moving other blobs around it. I have no idea why.

Let's say I Select All and use the pitch slider to tune all of the notes. Fine. Now I go in and fine tune the notes that are not where they are supposed to be. As soon as I grab a blob and start to move it, all the other blobs move back out of tune. I grab a blob that I want to move down in pitch and it immediately moves the adjacent blob up in pitch. WHY? What is going on here? It wasn't doing this yesterday.

Help please if you know what's happening. I'm going insane and running out of time.

Also if I have a blob that represents two notes and I split it so that I can move the pitch up of the first part, as soon as I move that first blob they clamp themselves back together. Why? It wasn't doing this yesterday. What has gone wrong? I do not understand.

Do you, by any chance have it open on another track as well? I had a problem with every new edit undoing the last until i discovered that another instance was open with the dialogue box showing.

I can't see peoples sigs on my cellphone what version of Sonar and melodyne?

If X3 make sure you are on X3E.
If Platinum make sure you are up to date in the CCC.
Also consider a VST reset (that is a reset followed by a rescan):

Assuming something buggy is happening (I'm not sure).

Hi. It's SONAR X3e and Melodyne Editor (latest). I posted my question to Celemony Support also and they said could be a problem with the project. So I copied the clips to a new project and Hey Presto! It's working fine. What's that all about?

Weird.

Did you still have everything selected (you mentioned select all and using the slider)?

Most likely you had another MD clip open somewhere and it had the dialog box open. The behavior is typical until you click it away. Perhaps on a hidden track even?

I'm posting just to commiserate with you. I have had Melodyne do this on three separate occasions and found it to be frustrating in the extreme. Just when you think you're getting somewhere with your song and are excited and moving along nicely ... BAM! Cannot edit one single thing in Melodyne without other blobs moving willy-nilly wherever they please  Takes the excitement away pretty effectively. How I "solved" it is shrouded in the mists of time, but it probably involved throwing out some work and pulling out some hair.

I'm pretty sure I didn't have any other instances open, but I'll try to remember that tip if (please, noooooo!) this ever crops up again.
