Save the project in SPLAT
  open in splat
    track 7 folder is collapsed
  click any audio track
 click on SD in browser
  the midi track in the SD folder is high-lighted
 
open the folder with track 7
   click any audio track
     click on SD in browser  
       the midi track in the SD folder is high-lighted
 
collapse the SD folder
   click any audio track
     click on SD in browser  
       track 1 is selected

Open the SD folder and
   the midi track is selected
Close the SD folder and
   track one is selected

in Splat
 the first MIDI channel created will be the one identified by the browser click.
 
I deleted the SD folder midi track and now the track I had inserted below the SD folder is the track selected.
I delete track 30 and now track 7 is selected.
 
This all seems arbitrary to me.
 
Someone got some logic to 'splain this?
