  • What do you think about future features coming to Platimum? (p.2)

I finally got a real drum kit in my studio. I'm looking forward to the drum replacement function.
I'm getting a good live drum sound but it would be nice to augment them with some samples.

I've already used the (very convenient) VocalSync Rendering update, two of the new impulses for ReMatrix, and Craig's VoxTools FX chain in a project, so I'm pretty pleased with the first update!  And I can see using the Piezo FX Chain and maybe some of the Hardgroove stuff at some point, not to mention the fixes and Mix Recall changes.   So if the rest of the year is anything near what the first update was, then it should be good year for SONAR.     I say bring it on...

Personally I'm happy for any new features, but the most important things for me are in order:

1.  Bug Fixes
2.  Workflow enhancements
3.  Performance improvements (Though performance is pretty good right now.)
4.  Additional native features
5.  Additional content

I'd be happy if they just continued to fix bugs, anything else is gravy.  (Of course YMMV).

+1 That nails it on the head for me as well. 1-3 specifically. #4 would rank higher if it was geared more to "overhaul existing native features" (AS, SV, yada yada - which would probably lump it into #2).

Is this the first thread ever where everybody agrees? :)

I think that the features listed in the what's up next in Platinum are going to be the extent of the big features that we're going to see for the first year cycle on the new membership plan.

FYI, Cakewalk used to say nothing at all about upcoming updates. They're lifting the curtain a bit, but they're still not going to give the roadmap for the whole year.

Couldn't care less about the upcoming features, Sonar has enough features to satisfy anyone. Any shortcomings are workflow related, making everything faster and simplifying certain things would make it much better. I'd rather Cakewalk focus on workflow, bug fixes, and most important of all just bring back the color options they removed.

+1 to all of that
+a multi-freeze button, a few more key bindings for the "newer" features (e.g. ProChannel), some fixes/improvements to control surfaces issues (which we know won't happen) ... and remembering MIDI devices & channels based on their "friendly name" ...

if all that happens I'll be so happy that I'll cry all day ;-) <<d**n which song did I steal that from ????>>

EDIT: there are really great suggestions in the feature request forum ... I'm curious if we see those being acknowledged and implemented or if it is just a place for us to vent hot air

asking for a year's membership in advance without "lifting the curtain a bit" would be a very big ask...

As Craig hints it probably isn't but I wish it was, as that would make more time for bug fixes and workflow/performance improvements. So far opinion seems to side heavily towards these categories.
