Hi All,

X1 crashed yesterday and somehow disabled the "play" function of the transport.
At first I thought the interface got knocked off line, but after going to Preferences>Control Surfaces, I noticed my interface listed normally. I then noticed thae rest of the functions of the transport (Fast Forward, Rewind, etc.) are all working. It's just the Play function that's non responsive.

Can someone suggest a fix to this. It would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Matt

Will it record? Fast Forward and Rewind don't require opening a port on the interface or reading its clock signal. Sounds like there is an issue with the driver or the hardware. Have you rebooted? I would double check all relevant settings in SONAR (especially Playback and Record Timing Masters) and the audio interface's control panel.

What interface is it?

Hi brundlefly, thanks.
This is M@ B, I had to create a new forum membership because the new forum wouldn't let me in for some reason.. Havent been here in a while..

No, it will not record. The record button will Arm, but the audio doesn't move when press Play.

Yes, I restarted and shut down the computer a couple of times.

The interface is Cakewalk V-Studio 100.
The Control Surface In Port and Out Port in Sonar both show VStudio 100 as Control Device.

Thanks again brundlefly. It's fixed! It was, in fact the Playback Timing Master.

I found the solution in the Cakewalk documentation:

Go to Edit > Preferences > Audio - Driver Settings.
In the Playback Timing Master Field and Record Timing Master Field, select the appropriate interface.
The crash yesterday apparently knock the VStudio off of the Playback Timing Master.

Working again.
Thanks again.
