Good question, and perhaps one that support could answer.   Seems quite possible that cakewalk will fix the command center failures before providing a demo, though.     Last time I had a program insist on installing in a certain place was 1980s (90s?), windows 3.1

something called "Command Center".

Take note before using it:  (1)  it will not ask or warn about where to install , everything goes to C drive
   (2) it will NOT provide an Uninstall for installed programs.  (3) if you have to uninstall, you are likely to lose parts of older working installation

Did you try the settings cog on the Command centre that seems to me to pretty much let me install plugins where I want and even to decide where the installation programs are stored.  Am I missing something about the install process?  Probably.

That is only for VST locations and where to download the installers to. It doesn't give you an option to specify the locations where the products will be installed to, so everything gets installed to the C drive.
