It is working fine in TV, but not working in PRV... When I press the N key in PRV, the enable button does not change nor does the actual change of snap enable/disable...

I don't use th PRV in multidock... It opens as a separate full screen PRV...I forget the 3 letter acronym for this "mode"

Ah!  The default in PRV is to follow global snap settings.  I always use this mode because it's less for me to keep track of.  To get a shortcut key to work for prv snap go into preferences/keyboard shortcuts  then in area dropdown select piano roll view and bind a shortcut to prv snap override.

Thanks swamptooth...

I tried this previously and it still didn't work... I'm not trying to use any particular snap settings... That's yet another issue. I'm only talking about enabling/disabling snap while I'm working in the PRV...

I often need to snap a note's start tine, but then wish to make the length shorter than the next snap value and right now I go a bit batty needing to mouse back and forth every few seconds...

Ever since X1 when we were limited to a global snap, I've had various issues with the new snap arrangement. Most of the problems have been addressed, but not this one... My other related snap issue is that when disabling the PRV snap, my grid reverts to global snap... I have not tested this issue in 2015 yet...

Do you get this behaviour in all you projects, old and new ?
I'm wondering if you start a brand new project, does the N key Snap toggle on/off work in your PRV ?

I have not tested that yet in 2015, but it happened with new projects in X3...

I'll do my best to look into this aspect in 2015 when next on my generator time (limited electricity here right now)

Thanks for this idea...

Per the help files the piano roll view follows the global snap and the toggle on/off, it has independent snap resolution when the little grid box is on in the upper right hand corner. The grid box in prv does not  turn snap on/ off ,it just pertains to resolution in the prv. I tried the N key here and it turns global snap on/off in either tv or prv. If smart grid is enabled the resolution changes based on vertical zoom or so it appears to me. Maybe you could try unassigning the N key and then reassigning to see if that will fix it.

This is also what I experience. Just to be clear - are you talking about the inline PRV, or the separate view?

Thanks teego...

That is what I exoected, but it has not been working since they changed the snap shortcut key to N as I wanted (and others of course)

Part of the problem is that there is no option for the default snap enable key (snap extended).. I did try to do this in x3e... And I will try again in 2015...

Hi Craig...

The separate view... PRV, not inline...

This was the case in x3e as well... Others had no problem, but me....?

Thanks for sticking with me on this...

OK...FWIW it DOES work the way you want and there is no bug. But it's a two-step process to set up.

The top image shows that MIDI snap is off in the TV and PRV. The MIDI snap value is 1/8 and the TV snap value is 1/4. Clicking on the "checkerboard" to the upper right in the PRV unfolds where you right-click on the snap field to determine the snap value.

The bottom image shows what happens after typing N. It now toggles snap on for both TV and PRV. You can tell because the gray/light blue buttons become bright blue.

If you type N again it goes back to the top image. There is something you're not doing, but I'm not sure what it is...

That is exactly how it works for me also Craig.

Thanks Craig...

That's exactly what I expect... I understand the separate value setting for PRV...

But the N key is not doing that here... When the PRV is open, pressing N does nothing...
