Controlling Knobs and Faders with QWERTY Keyboard, is it possible. I'm guessing yes, but I'm not sure what to press and hold.

Yes there is. Obviously the knob or fader (or other control) has to have focus. That can be initiated with a mouse click but changed with the keyboard arrow (up/down/left/right) keys.

The controls are then adjusted with the + & - keys.

Thanks Karl, Thought there would be and that it would be something obvious. I was trying Ctrl,,ALt,,Shift and any other key combo with the arrows. + and - is clearly the obvious choice

Ahh, damn, another thing not working as expected. Figuring out why is tiring.

Ok so there are two plus and minus buttons. After the numbers and as part as part of the Number Pad, so I'll call the +-Q for QWERTY and +-N for Number Pad
Windows Display set to Smaller as advised by Cake (in case you have seen my other thread), and then tried in Default as recommended by Windows
Track inspector and Console View
+-Q = works
+-N= works

Track View
+-Q = Works
+-N = System Volume (little pop up box appears, not sure if this is  Windows thing, a Laptop thing and Sonar thing, but it doesn't appear when using Youtube)

ProChannel View (the reason I am trying this approach)
Console and Tape Em./Bark and +10DB/Rematrix and Breverb
+-Q = Nothing
+-N = Nothing
This is due to not having four white corners when selected I guess, so unable to put 'in focus'
Tube/Comp+-Q = Works

+-N = Works

Quad EQ
+-Q = Works (Except for shelving slope being a switch rather than a knob, only minus works, not plus)
+-N = Works (Except for shelving slope being a switch rather than a knob, only minus works, not plus)

QUAD EQ Flyout
+-Q = Nothing (even though you get four white corners to show 'in focus')
+-N = Nothing (even though you get four white corners to show 'in focus')

OK my initial alarm was from trying the number pad on track view first (number pd being the most ergonomic to access after putting 'in focus' with the mouse. Then when I tried the +- on the QWERTY, it was initial user error,  in that I pressed hyphen and hyphen and minus both work, but plus and equals do not. plus and minus are preferable on the number pad due to ergonomics and the QWERTY requiring the additional use of a shift key to select plus and minus.

So mixed results, with predicable and unpredictable consistences, and Display size is not a factor

So I wonder what that pop up volume box is when selecting Track View and using the +- in the Number Pad?

Can anyone confirm whether this is a Sonar thing and windows thing or a Sonar thing. It only seems to happen in Track View, and does nothing outside of Sonar. Using the number pads plus and minus pops this up in track view, instead of adjusting in focus elements of Track view

Also the parts in red in the post above, do other also have the same results. Plus and Minus are showing inconsistencies in different views, to the point of being miner bugs.

Anyone spare a moment to test the above for me?

Not seeing that here works as expected

Same here but I guess that's because for some reason as you've said I can't put focus to those controls

Same here, sounds like a bug.

Not seeing your issue in the track view with the pop up either. I suspect that maybe it's a local keyboard control or one of those system "enhancements" for you.

Thank for doing that Karl. I suspected that the volume pop up would be just to me, but odd it doesn't happen in any other programme and only in Track View in Sonar.

I was having that issue earlier. All I did was click on the little speaker icon in the taskbar and adjust my volume back to 100%. It hasn't shown up since and I can't seem to make it happen again.
