That pop up volume box appears when I press f7 and f8 keys which are volume controls on my keyboard, so looks to be specific to my laptop. Strange it only happens on Track view with the numpads plus and minus, not the QWERTY's and there is nothing in the HP Manual bout them having a secondary function

Cheers FM. I've posted for the QuadEQ stuff
http://forum.cakewalk.com...-Quad-EQ-m3189039.aspx

The non-cake pro channels are just outside the scope of the function, and aren't such an issue for me as these functions work with the mouse in default display mode, so I'd like them left alone.

The Volume thing I'll treat as a system issue, not a cakewalk

I'm bumping this thread because the issue is back. I made a post on the Microsoft forum and haven't gotten a reply to help me fix the issue. I know that this isn't present in FL Studio, so it is an issue with Sonar and Windows. I'm assuming Windows is somehow viewing Sonar as a media application and it's using the plus and minus keys as shortuts to control the system volume.

I've searched high and low trying to find a system settings or option to fix this problem. I've even gone into my keyboards software and turned off all Fn (function) controls and that didn't help. Would be nice if someone around here can chime in and help both Kamikaze and myself stop the plus and minus keys from controlling system volume while using Sonar.

I don't experience these issues.  I am using wired keyboard to tower-based PC.  It would seem that you are using your notebook sound card, or you are using an interface but don't have the internal soundcard disabled in Device Manager.

I'm using a personally built PC with all audio devices disabled in the bios. The only audio device and drivers I have on this computer are my interface drivers. This is a Windows 8.1 and Sonar issue, I've tested it in other apps and it only seems to occur in Sonar.

I only upgrade my operating system when Microshaft holds a gun to my head.  I think your next resort is to file a support ticket with Cake.

PS:  I too build my systems.

Can I check a couple of things FM
1) Does this happen with both the plus and minus key after the row of numbers above the QWERTY keyboard, and the plus and minus key as part of the number pad?
2) Does this only occur in the Track View, or do you get it on the Prochannel and Console too?

Testing it out right now it seems to happen with only the numpad + and - keys, and it happens in the Track View.

And I'm on a laptop and you are on a Desktop?

Yes, and I've tested it on two separate keyboards, wired and wireless.
