I've updated the Bandlab assistant and disabled the start up so it doesn't launch automatically. Problem is, it still does??
Anyone else getting this problem? So no matter if start-up is enabled or disabled, the assistant will launch. Any advice?

Have you updated the Assistant?  That problem was fixed with a new version.

launch 'msconfig' then goto startup tab...Startup Item is called Update by Github (yeah I know!).. the little critter should be unticked...

tbh...it should still startup... I went to 3.0.6 yesterday and it stayed unticked

Indeed! "I've updated the Bandlab assistant" to new version. The last one didn't give an option to disable start-up. So, no matter if I enable or disable the start-up feature, it launches.

Check your version again and make sure it's  3.0.6.

It would seem that there is still a registry key telling BA to auto-run, even though BA itself isn't putting it there anymore. Open Task Manager, go to the Startup tab and if you see BandLab Assistant in the list, right-click and select "Disable".

I don't actually know if this will work, since I've already disabled BA's autorun entry in the registry. Task Manager does not list every autorun, so it isn't always a reliable way to kill all startup programs. A better tool is autoruns.exe from Sysinternals, a free download and a very helpful tool to have on hand.

I had the same problem as you (even with v3.0.6 of BA), and solved it with using a tool to remove it from starting up automatically. I guess you can just follow bitflipper's advice to solve the problem.

Uninstalling the current version with an advanced uninstall program such as "Revo Uninstaller Pro" should get rid of any startup entries (and registry entries).  Then reboot and install the latest version.  That should take care of it.
