This sounds familiar though i don't remember why...

I just received a replacement fir the winxp laptop ive been limited to... The new machine is a generation older. It's got a dual core pentium.... The first of multi core machines... It's a dell studio with 17" monitor and 4G RAM...

Most important... It is running Vista x64! Though i prefer win7, i don't have issues with it.

I installed X1 and all went well...

When i run the first time, auto scan tries to run and fails with a message regarding "can't find entry point in kernel" (not the exact wording or names)...

Everthing else is fine it seems, but nithing vst is available... Fx bin or PC...

Anyone seen this?

Any ideas?

Much thanks for reading this thread...

Thanks...

Have you tried running it as Administrator?

Thanks ESharpe...

That did it... Funny, as i was unsure where the issue was, i enabked vstscan.exe to always run as administrator, then ran Sonar as administrator and ran plugin manager... Vst scan ran without a hitch...

Then after closing x3, i undid the permanent administrator status from vstscan.exe and ran X3 normal (not as administrator) and plugin manager had no troubke running vstscan.exe... Go figure...

But at least the issue is solved...

Thanks for your help...
