So I forgot to say that given a little time and effort on your part will reap real benefits down the road. It's hard to see that now. I know because I was like that, had a work flow and did not want to change. Glad I warmed up to the new ideas. I work much faster now.

I understand the frustration one can have in learning a new and very complicated program such as a DAW. No DAW is automatically intuitive. Its not an easy thing that is natural to a computer. However it would be far better to begin posts and threads with how to do something rather than saying how bad it seems to be. When you know how to do something suddenly it doesn't seem so bad or that it can't be done at all. One of the interesting things that came to my mind was that CW has supported multiple monitors long before any other DAW.  In Pro Audio there was fine multi monitor support. It has only gotten better over the years. The Skylight GUI was developed to address a problem in part with single monitors. Thus the Multidock. For a small single display such as on a laptop it is a huge help.

The temperature of the forum would go down and help with step by step instructions will come with a desire to share what the forum already knows. Assume that you don't know rather then blame the software.

Mr. Jonesey, we answered all his questions????

Actually, use "D" and the docking problem disappears.

Perhaps he got into docking/undocking, D and Shift-D so much that the album is already complete and he is now on tour?

It is one of my favorite features and It seems to be a standard in most DAWs half worth using. Learn to use it and you'll be fine.

It took me a while to adjust to the multi dock in X1, after working in the pre X versions of 1 through 8.5 of SONAR. Initially I used the floating method with the track/arrange view on one and the dock on the other, then through X2 and X3 I got more used to it along with learning the wonders of D and Ctrl-D.

In X3 I tried an experiment and spread the whole window across both screens and it was very workable.  Most views docked but floating certain views like the event list, the Melodyne window, when I needed it, and any plugins.

Then Like Grem I had the opportunity to upgrade my two 23" monitors to 27" this made everything much more readable.  I still spread the main window across both screens making great use of the keyboard short cuts D, Ctrl-D and C, floating any windows I need just by grabbing the tab for the window and dragging it away out of the dock.

There are some things that could be added to some of the views like the note value buttons to the Staff view and the PRV but keyboard short cuts once learnt are also a way to work.  Perhaps even a few teaks to the tool HUD relating to the active window but I can wait.
