I just want to make sure that you have snap to grid enabled in the PRV. If it is not, then snap is off no matter what the setting in the main snap to grid is.

Sorry, but that's not accurate. PRV-specific snap overrides global snap if enabled. Otherwise the global snap setting pertains in the PRV.

I double checked that before I posted. If I disable snap to grid in the PRV then snap to grid has no effect even if the global snap to grid is enabled.

If you go into preferences, there is a setting to adjust the "magnetic" strength of the snap. I know I had to increase mine when I first installed Platinum.

To clarify my post, there are 2 icons that directly affect the snap to grid state in the PRV. One is the grid icon, the other is the note subdivision icon. The combination of those two icons create three snap to grid states. If the grid icon is disabled then the note subdivision icon disappears and the snap to grid status will, as you posted, be whatever the global setting is. If both icons are enabled then the PRV snap to grid settings will be in effect. If the Grid icon is enabled but the note subdivision icon is disabled then snap to grid in the PRV is disabled. Below is an image of those three combinations. My apologies for not making myself clear. When I posted "snap to grid disabled" I was referring to the status outlined in Green.

Green = PRV Snap to Grid Disabled.
Red = PRV Snap to Grid Settings in Effect.
Yellow = Global Snap to Grid Settings in Effect.

That should actually be reported as a bug; if Musical, MIDI and Markers buttons are all disabled, the PRV snap module should disable and close automatically after a few seconds as it did in X3 and earlier versions. I hadn't noticed this wasn't working in Platinum.

A bug? Maybe, but I really like how it works right now. If it's a bug I hope they don't fix it.
