  • What free content bundle do you think viable to be included with CbB future update?

So CbB has been released without 3rd party content (plugins, instruments, etc) bundled that SPLAT had before.
If... Just if... somehow BandLab has a chance to have a deal with 3rd party plugins or synths to be included and distributed as bundle in future release of CbB, what plugin / synths do you think worth to consider? And why?

Any idea?

Adaptive limiter, l-series eq and, multiband, ca2a t-type compressor. Maybe z3ta...

With Cakewalk already free I can’t see anything but updates to the core program being free.

I suspect that there will only be paid for content. Isn’t it enough that anyone who wants can get the flagship daw and ongoing updates for free.

Programs like Ca2a and Adaptive Limiter were already pay to buy products. Expect that not to change.

I’m fairly sure that Meng is putting into full swing the policy that Cakewalk were implementing with life time updates; a free core program with paid add ons like plugins and content.

I don't recall Adaptive Limiter being a paid for option.  It was only in SPLAT and other people said they would like to buy it, but it it was locked to SPLAT....not even Artist users could get it even though it wasn't a pro-channel.

Adaptive Limiter got introduced with one of the updates. It didn't have to be purchased separately.

I too imagine the Cake core software will be free, but extra content will be available for sale. That's ok by me to be honest, partly because I still have the content that came with Splat, but also because I have never used a lot of that content and tend to use the content I want from other manufacturers i.e. Native Instruments, Waves etc.

I am not sure what is currently included with Cake and what has been removed. Hopefully, some of the stuff will remain especially the more essential things such as some of the pro channel plugs.

Bandlab already has thousands of free loops on their site, and instruments, too. I'm not holding my breath for expensive plugins/VSTi's for free.

I got a little spoiled in the last couple of years, with Addictive Drums, True Pianos, the CA-2A, LP-EQ, Adaptive Limiter, VocAlign, Drum Replacer, and so on. I never expected all those perks, and I honestly didn't know how I was going to pay for the stuff I thought I needed. It was great while it lasted, but if the party's over, I have no regrets and I'm grateful for what I have.

Yep, any additional content will be for pay.  Why else give the platform out for free?  Do you think anyone would pay for the privilege of using FB?  I expect they will be rolling out their new/old synths/effects ASAP.  The 3rd party stuff?  Naw.

I actually just want them to include Alchemy.

If you have the last version of Splat, you have those plugins available to you in CbB.  Just direct the plug in manager to those paths.

I suspect the mastering plug-ins and CA-2A will be migrated to BandLab and probably free for Platinum owners. Zeta+ Classic, probably not since there has been a paid upgrade available for some time. Do expect a BandLab version of Z3ta+2 too.

Adding plugins to sweeten the pot made sense when you were trying to coax new buyers into dropping half a grand, or veterans to fork over a hundred dollars or more for an upgrade. If getting a professional class DAW for the price of exposing yourself to a BandLab account (and pumping up their subscriber numbers to impress the money people) is not sufficient then I hope Meng paid a really really fire sale price for the Cakewalk code. The logical synergy here is to have those plugin developers who already do so launch their limited feature demos onto the new market. In fact a lot of the stuff that Cakewalk was providing was on that model. If BandLab itself spends any significant money buying, or even less likely, developing add-ins for Cakewalk I will be surprised.

I would in fact expect that the future development goals will be strong integration with other BandLab products, followed by serious efforts to bug-proof the code so that people will not complain that the product does not work, and the support is limited, as was the case in the waning days of Cakewalk the company. If anything, the feature set is likely to be paired back. The new user is much less likely to be a heavy duty DAW user, and more likely to be a musician with a side interest in home recording, or a loop-based beat composer. So long as CakewalkBBB is capable of running industry standard plugins (a plethora of which are already free or available at very low prices) it would make little sense to increase the feature set, let alone provide expensive plugs.
