I've used Sonar for a very long time and I'm pleased that BandLab has chosen to continue it with Cakewalk. However, I'm curious about the business model, meaning how are they going to keep it going as a free DAW? Where will the funds come from for improvements, new releases, customer support, etc? I struggle with deciding whether to make a shift to Logic Pro or Pro Tools now, or ride this transition out and hope that Cakewalk is supported and improved well into the future.
Thoughts?
