Actually, in first place I am looking for a samplePLAYER, not an entire sampling software:
I am currently using first a conventional wave editor to trim the samples, then I import them in Creative's Vienna SoundFont Studio where I can arrange looping (if applicable), and organizing the root samples for transposition - usually not exceeding the range of a major third. The results are reasonable - but the use of the soundfont player has stuck. Of course, in Cakewalk Sonar X3 Studio, I can make use of the sound card's "SoundFont Device". But if I get to other music software (e.g. Sibelius), that trick won't work. In the past, Sibelius worked well with the SFZ+, they (AVID) even had recommended it as a good software. This is the story behind.
On the other hand, If I find by this discussion another good sampling software which allows me to create sample banks in a format better than .sf2, I will eagerly skip the old process. Please, keep me up to date.
Thankx.
