I recently had an odd experience.
I track in a different room than where I mix, and on a separate PC.
I usually open my template then "save as" a normal or .cwp file.
It has been awhile since tracking sessions, and I might have incorrectly tracked on the template and then "saved as" a normal file, which resulted in all the information staying in the template folders, instead of moving to the new folder I created for that tracking project.
I copied the folder on my portable HD and then pasted the folder on the mixing PC. When I tried to open the project there were no files except the one file in the folder that I put there when I did the save. There were also no Audio, Picture Cache, etc. folders to be found.
So correct me if I am wrong, but the way I did this in the past, with success, was to...
Create new folder for the tracking session.
Open template.
Immediately perform a "save as" in a new folder.
Check the new folder for proper creation of Audio, Picture Cache, etc. folders and the new file.
This way, when I finish the tracking session I can copy that new folder and paste it on to the mixing PC.
All of the project files should be in that new folder. And yes, my settings include "per project audio folders".
I mean this worked in the past for me...so I must have messed something up this time.
Am I on the right track?
Thanks.
