I'm looking for an inexpensive USB mixing controller to help make working in Sonar a little easier.  I'm used to the tactile sliders and knobs.  Can anybody suggest such a device for a few hundred dollars?

If you are looking for something small and inexpensive, you might try the Korg NanoKontroller 2 (http://www.musiciansfriend.com/keyboards-midi/korg-nanokontrol2-slim-line-usb-control-surface/h87346?rNtt=nanokontrol&index=1). Works on USB, 8 channel, includes fader knobs, pan pots, markers, etc. I have the original NanoKontoller and it works fine for me.

I aLso have the Nanopad, and as that editor is so intuitive, I'm considering the nano control. It's small footprint, and probably would sit on the nanopad easily, and with me being laptop based, so it's easily portable, make the obvious for me

Great suggestions, thanks everyone.  I have a nanoPad2 for inputting my drum beats so I am a fan of Korg's 'cheap' products.  I will give serious consideration to the NanoKontroller.

Take a look at the BCF2000.  You can get a new one from Amazon for about $300: http://www.amazon.com/Behringer-BCF2000-BEHRINGER-B-CONTROL-FADER/dp/B000CZ0RJ2 - take a look at the video I have on my website on how this can be used in Sonar.  Though the video was done with Sonar 8.5 and a feature or two is not longer working in the X series of Sonar, most of it is still sound.  Motorized faders are the main reason to go for this, but if you have used non-motorized ones, it can be a little off-putting with the lack of picking up where you left off.
