  • Sonar X3 - I'm hearing clicks once I've created a wave mix

Hello people!

I don't think this has happened before but I'm trying to create a wave mix of a file and there are clicks being introduced on the resulting wave. I can't see anything obvious when looking at the wave itself but I can very much hear them.

I'm going to try running things through my other sound card but I thought maybe it had something to do with Melodyne and how it's going in and out of the plugin - I'm not sure but this is the first time I have used it but there might be a connection.

If this is the case, any idea on how to resolve it? And if that shouldn't be happening, any idea what else could be going on?

Thanks so much!

The soundcard won't matter if you're using Fast Bounce; rendering is an offline process.

Route the rendered track directly to Main Outs so it's not being re-effected by plugins on the Master bus, and solo it. If you still hear clicks, and they're in the same place every time. Zoom in on one, and check for clipping (flat top on peaks) or dropped audio buffers (sudden vertical discontinuity in the waveform). If it is related toe Melodyne, try freezing/bouncing that first. Also, mkae sure your ASIO buffer is at least 1024 as recommended by Melodyne because SONAR uses the real-time ASIO buffer size for offline processing by default.
