  • (Solved... sorta) Can't Bounce Clips,Tracks, or Export

I am getting more frustrated with Platinum as I go forward. I imported roughly 75 1-2 bar clips to 1 track. This is the only thing in the whole project. No plugs, synths, nuthin'. I edited them a lot, bounced to clips as I went - no problem. Saved the state. Kept project open. Wanted to export this one track. Error - operation failed. Tried next to bounce to 1 clip. Error occurred. Operation failed. Tried to bounce to new track - same result. Also tried closing/reopening to same end.

I don't have a clue what is going on, but the more I work, the worse it seems to get. Here's a screenshot of the message SP sends when trying any of the above options. Oh yeah, and my screensets are jacked, though I copied them from another project at the start of this one. They were fine til I tried to export, etc. Help....

I was able to select and copy the track into another project I'd been doing the same thing with. It worked, I could export. But I do not understand how a single audio track can't be bounced in any way, or exported. I guess I'll call this solved - til the next time it happens. I've wasted more time lately with things not working/ or as I'd think they should. If I weren't scared to death to uninstall/reinstall (is it correct that this can mess up earlier versions?!?) I think I'd bite the bullet.

In the Bounce and/or Export dialog, did you select the Source Category as "tracks"? That's pretty obvious, but there's also something more subtle.

With narration I end up with a very similar scenario - lots of little clips that all need to be bounced together. These bounces create new files so that SONAR can perform undos. You can end up with lots of files, all pointing to an untrimmed file, to the point where there might not be enough memory. Prior to bouncing or exporting, consider trimming the clips and that may solve your problem.

Thanks, Craig. I did select Tracks as source because I need to have all separate files for a instrument I'm trying to create. It's strange that the same 'no further editing done' files were copied and dropped into a new project and worked exporting. I had made all these files Groove Clips (another source of trouble you helped with, thanks!) so I don't see why there would have been need to trim/apply. Also, as I'm a bit of a neat freak.... I always Split and Delete, never crop clips. I really appreciate your efforts, and your expertise here at the forum. Enjoy, Shep
