I am noticing something strange when editing midi clips in the PRV.

I'm working on a piece and am doing a lot of splitting of clips. bouncing to clip, ctrl and/or shift drag for copying and as a matter of routine, I often use the Apply Trimming feature.

Now, it works, but in order to get it to work I have to do it twice. The first time it does nothing, the second time it works.

Has anyone seen this or even better (worse?) replicate it?

Thanks

I just trimmed a few MIDI clips last night, and did not encounter that.

EDIT: For the benefit of anyone who stumbles on this thread later, this happens when you have a clip that has been slip-edited, leaving empty space between the first/last MIDI event and the slip-edit boundary. The first pass of Apply Trimming trims the clip to the slip-edit boundaries, discarding hidden content, and the second pass trims the clip to the first and last MIDI event. I just 're-learned' this from here:

I have seen it quite often in X3e, almost always when splitting clips. Generally does not happen if I simply remove some events and then apply trimming.

That would explain why I haven't seen it. I generally have Non-destructive MIDI Editing disabled so clips split at note boundaries and don't need trimming. When I was trimming, it was because I had shortened the last note in a track in the PRV, leaving the clip too long.
