Hello, Cakewalk forum, i wonder if anyone and help with a very annoying issue that I'm having;
Briefly i bought a Novation Zero SL MK11(Zero)  to control Kontakt 5 - via sending  midi CC to controls on  the instrument;
If i run Kontakt 5 standalone - and i setup the Zero for midi CC in automap mode - i can easily map/learn control on Instruments in K5. I've run the midi utility - MIDI-OX as a diagnostic aid , so that i can see the CC message leaving the Zero.
However this isn't how i use the K5. I use K5 as a Vst instrument in sonar 8.5.
The trouble is i can't  get midi activity to appear in the track inspector of a midi track when i move
the sliders or knobs on the zero; I've set midi Input to:All Inputs - Omni, Output to: Kontakt and finally
Midi channel: None. The K5 instrument /patch  Midi Ch is set to Omni;
The Automap midi inputs and outputs are enabled under Midi devices in Sonar; And Automap 4 is running in the tray area.
With MIDI-OX running i can see the CC messages, also the sonar midi activity icon on the tray - blinks as i move the knobs and sliders on the Zero. So i think the Midi CC is getting into Sonar ...
I believe once midi CC activity appears in the track inspector things will work.

Any Ideas? Thanks for any help in advance;
(I forgot to mention that i tried my Zero with a demo version of sonar X and i get the same problem);

Try using ACT for controlling a synth.

Thank you for reply from John: In my case ACT will not work simply because there is no midi CC arriving on the track inspector; I need to get pass this bit ...

Thanks for the reply from Swamtooth, good idea - unfortunately input echo made no difference.

If your keyboard is sending you should be able to receive it. It could be that its not set to the right channel.

The Novation Zero SK MKII has no keyboard - just knobs, sliders and buttons: It is connect to the pc via USB . Therefore midi over USB. Hope this info helps.
