Hi

*Every* time I add CT to a track it pops loudly and kills the audio outs. To make CT work, I have to save the project with the CT left in the FX bin and then restart Sonar (Platinum). It then works fine. I tried switching off 64 bit processing but no difference.

Any clues anyone?

Thanks

Gary

A few more system details might help, driver details, Buffer sizes etc might help diagnose your problem.

I know this will not help much but I use Channel Tools all the time and have not seen or heard this problem.

I have had this exact problem on my web PC.

It has Win8.1
AMD six core CPU
Realtec on board sound

And the work around I found was the exact same thing, I had to save while leaving the CT in the FX bin then open project back up. Works as expected after that.

I would have never reported this as it happened on my home/web PC and not my music PC.

Just saying it has happened to me. And it was on buses, not regular tracks.

I can give more info if needed.

Grem more info would help what driver for the on board sound card

Default driver. No AISO4ALL.

That would mean then Grem you are either using one of the windows drivers.  Does it stall the audio engine.  Have you tried toggling the PDC?  I had a problem for a little while with the Concrete limiter in the PC doing a similar thing, but that was a document bug.

I would be tempted to either report this on the reporting page or do a step by step in here so some others can try and reproduce the problem.

I just tried to repeat and could not get it to do this. In a new project and in the same project that the problem appeared in, neither one showed the problem. Channel Tools worked as expected. It didn't stop the audio engine when I added it even while projects was running.

IDK!

I suggest this thread gets moved to the Sonar forums for troubleshooting.

Would rather like to see some further information from the OP as there has been no input from them since posting one week ago, if this is not forth coming then moving the thread may be an option.

As there has been no further input from the OP I am moving this thread to the SONAR forum to open up more/further opportunities for discussion.
