Sorry, I don't have time. I'm too busy making Avant-Garde, Blues, Children's, Classical, Comedy/Spoken, Country, Easy Listening, Electronic, Folk, Holiday, International, Jazz, Latin, New Age, Pop/Rock, R&B, Rap, Reggae, Religious, Stage & Screen, & Vocal music.

Yes, what we can do on our computers at home is just mind boggling. I started years ago with stereo cassettes mixed/dubbed to one another to get my songs down.

Now I have world class compressor/eq's. And not just one! Quite a few of both!!

Yep, unbelievable. And I love it!!

I must just be old but I don't understand the perceived lack of support for EDM. Myself and the guys I used to hang out with managed to write what we thought was some pretty cool dance type music in the early 90s (before there were rules really) on some old synths and lifting samples off vhs recordings into an akai s1000. We even used the arcane recording method of 4 track. Imagine bouncing down to free up space :)

Actually that EDM rant thread gave me a cool idea - a dedicated kick drum synth with every type of kick you could possibly want in one place, intended for "plug and play" but you could tweak the sounds if you wanted. If I can pull it off the way I want, it will join my growing list of goodies and appear in a future release. Like the amps, this will be something I'll make to suit my own needs, and hope that others find it equally useful.
 
But to get back to the OP, I agree that it is astonishing what is possible these days, even with a laptop. Having spent many hours probably too many hours, separate issue!) in $$$ studios, I wouldn't trade any of them for what I have now.

The EDM rant also gave me an idea about developing dedicated forum software designed to greet trolls with every type of kick you could possibly want in one place as well :)
