  • Want to install Dimension Pro extra content from 8.5 disc for Platinum, doesn't work

I'm going through my Platinum installation to see if I've lost anything along the way, and it turns out that I don't have the Hollywood Edge FX bank for Dimension Pro. A forum search told me that it was on the 8/8.5 'Extra Content' disc. So, I dug that out, ran the installer, and it says: "A valid Dimension Pro installation has not been detected. Please install Dimension Pro before running this setup." Obviously I do have Dim. Pro installed and working fine, and CCC gives it the glowing green light of approval.

Obviously what signifies a "valid" Dim. Pro installation has changed since 2009, so, what do I need to do to get this expansion (and anything else on the extra content disc, for that matter) to install on Platinum?

(As an addendum, is there any master list of content that has been dropped from successive versions of Sonar? Each time I upgrade, I have the dilemma of wanting a clean installation on one hand, but not wanting to lose any plugins or settings on the other.)

I think that's your problem.

In order to turn the CCC light green you must have installed DP via the CCC yes?
My logic says that Splat recognises DP as a new version - a version that is incompatible with the version containing the Hollywood FX.

I have not updated my DP via CCC and all my previous expansion packs are available in the browser.

I wonder if DP was authorized after the install.

What happens if you launch DP in stand-alone mode, making sure to launch it with Run As Administrator (right-click on the DP launch icon and click on Run As Administrator).  If it needed authorization, I would think it would then pop up at that point, and you would/should be able to enter your registration code successfully.

Everything is authorised. I don't think I had to do it manually so probably CCC did it.

I can't launch it in stand-alone mode - I don't think that gets installed any more.

I tried Scook's suggestion in the other thread of copying the registry keys over, but that hasn't made any difference.

I'll wait a little bit longer then contact tech support.
