hello everyone, question, does anyone know of a place or of something where I can store all of my .CWB files. every cakewalk product that I've used starting with guitar tracks running on my millennium OS to sonar x-2 producer say the same thing, that is, "beware of bundles". that was from Scott Garrigus. I have, however burned many data .CWB files and never had a problem getting what ever I was working on open sonar and then i'm good to go.
I've heard of something called GOBBLER and CLOUD, however, I don't trust anything I don't know.
I need to get on this because I have finished a solo record and yesterday my computer got weird and scared the crap out of me. needless to say I want everything off this machine and stored someplace.
an ideas, or thoughts on this?? thanks
jp

Gobbler works great for me, there was a scare recently when they said they were going to temporarily halt Windows support but they appear to have reversed that decision after a backlash. I forget how much storage you get free but I got a paid account, it wasn't that much. Uploads and downloads seem quick enough and the interface is easy enough to use. Best of all though it handles project rollbacks so you can download earlier versions of your project if you want to undo major changes or recover information from earlier saves.

Anything you want! Your .cwb files, any project folders, any mixdowns, etc. Label the DVD with the project name(s) and date. Keep them in a central location and you'll have all of your projects within easy reach without having to upload them somewhere and then download them again to use them. Plus I trust my home security more than cloud storage :)

I generally just keep the 24 bit wave files (44.1). I discard old projects. They pile up too fast.

I keep projects based on available hard drive space.

I have 2 GB internal to my PC and 2 GB of backup.

I duplicate the backup drive to another I keep at the in-laws' place in case of a fire.

Really, there are so many ways to do it, you just have to decide how much space you need to keep what you want to keep. Then figure how much you want to spend for that space and pick your option. DVDs > Hard Drives > Cloud. It all works fine.
