  • How to copy linked clips to another project?

Is it possible to copy several linked clips from one project to another and keep them as linked clips? When I use copy/paste or drag'n'drop, there seems to be no option to keep the links between the clips. It always inserts the clips without links.

I want to copy complete midi tracks from one project to another, but loosing the links would mean I can no longer edit one clip to change all linked clips together.

No, I don't think this can be done. It's technically possible - Sonar would need to save it out in some shared location, a bit like the old shared audio directory. But I don't think there is much demand for it.

No need to save the clips in a shared location or something like that. I only want to preserve the links inside the new project where I paste to, no link to the original clips in the old project where I copied them from.

One brute force method would be to copy the project and delete whatever you don't need.

Well, my idea is to create a new project template and then use it to improve some older projects. I guess I will have to use track templates then and replace the instrument tracks in the old projects, instead of moving the midi tracks into a new project.
