I am seriously considering getting a 27" 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) display for use with Sonar.  Up until now, I have been using a 30" 2560 x 1600 display.  I prefer using Sonar on one high def display rather than a pair of monitors.  I am wondering how others using specifically Sonar Platinum on a 4K display are finding the experience?  How well does Sonar scale at 4K?  I have no problem with 2560 x 1600 on a 30" display, but wondering how easy it is to see all Sonar's elements and text at 4K/27".  Sizes larger than 27" seem to demand a much higher price, so this seems to be the sweet-spot.  But I'm a little concerned that 3840 x 2160 on just 27 inches might make some elements hard to see.
 
Anyone have any experiences to share?

I recently switched from a Dell 30" at 2560x1600 to a LG 31" running 4096x2160 (full cinema 4k).  I was very comfortable with the 30" Dell.  The new LG has a slightly wider ratio so it's hard to really compare but things are very small.  Sonar is very nice but most plugins are a bit tiny.  For about the first 2 weeks I ran at 3840x2160 (my old GTX680 wouldn't do the full 4k, had to upgrade it).  At either resolution I don't think I'd like an even smaller  physical screen.  Most software (plugins especially) just don't handle the DPI correctly.  I think at 27" it would be painful and require you run Windows with a higher scaling setting and hope apps respect it.  This is kind of a personal thing though, I'm running at stock 100% scaling and have just gotten used to it.  Some apps will let you set their own scale though, which can help, but most plugins are a bit on the small side. 
 

I've been using a UHD for over a year - naturally, at first I max'd the res- but my 1st ati (an r9) after many years staying away rewarded me with all kinds of ridiculous issues. I had to get a 970 and that's been great, but getting older I am needing reading glasses more, so I found a more comfortable balance using a lesser res.
The UHD hasnt led to any of the miracles I was imagining beforehand, but, meh

Sonar Platinum looks great... and you have lots of screen real-estate.

Make sure your combination of video card and monitor supports 60Hz refresh at 3840x2160.
I'm using a GTX-960

I run SONAR on a 40" Samsung 4k Smart TV. It's basically the equivalent of having 4 x 20" Full HD monitors minus the bars. It looks really awesome. The only downside is that I have to turn the TV on with the remote control as it doesn't recognize computer wake-up signals. Also the particular video card that I have looks much better at 30Hz compared to 60Hz. I have text scaled up to 125%. As was mentioned, some plugins can appear very small and hard to read. In those cases Win key & +/- becomes your new best friends.

I have a 28" 4k Samsung and it's awesome.  The only problem is with certain plug-in manufacturers who use tiny, fixed sized graphics.  For example, Eventide UltraChannel is close to unusable because it is so small on a 4k screen.  I haven't had problems with the SONAR UI or any of the bundled SPLAT plug-ins or most other 3rd party plug-ins.

I am running an Nvidia GTX-750 to an LG 49 inch TV @ 3840 x 2160.

The GTX-750 only requires 300 watts and can drive 4 monitors.

The 49" tv is overkill. I put the control bar at the bottom so it does not hurt my neck. Above the control bar is the console view, and at the top is track view. The console view can show about 25 tracks and busses. I put the inspector and browser on a second 24" monitor.

I can see a bunch of stuff at once, but I tend to use only the bottom 2/3 of the display.

I use multiple machines on th LG tv because it has 4 hdmi inputs. I also use mouse without borders to eliminate multiple keyboards/ mice. I have had this system for about a year now.

Depends on your eyesight :)

Thanks everyone.  Based on the responses, I think I will save a few pennies and see if I can get something 30" - 32".
