Thanks for listening and commenting everyone.

That's the spirit of DIY recording - or DIY anything else, for that matter - make do with what you've got.

Or as my daddy who grew-up at the tail-end of the depression used to say, "Poor people have poor ways."

Nice job Bill.

This has been a favourite of mine from a very young age. Like a lot of these traditional songs, there's a debate as to whether it's a Scottish or Irish tune, but the fact is it's sung by both communities.

Pink Floyd's "On the Turning Away" always reminds me of this song. The similarities are striking.

It's nice Bill. Maybe it's just me but early on I thought I heard one or two stumbles on the guitar. Unless they were planned of course.

Thanks Mark.

Bap, I've just listened again very intently and can't hear anything wrong with the guitar myself. Thanks though.

It’s a great tune. I’ve heard a few versions and all have yet to hear one that wasn’t moving. I thinks it’s that Celtic sort of melancholy melody. Nice job, strong vocal - congrats. I must say my favorite is the Byrds version - the harmony is killer.

An excellent mix - I really enjoyed the sound of the acoustic.  I thought your voice fit the song well.
Sounds great Bill. Guitar sounds like it's mic'd, which I guess is the microphone bleed helping out the Fishman. The only suggestion I have would be to use a medium to small room impulse on it and the guitar just to smear the sharper edges up a bit.

The acoustic playing and Vocals you recorded are very warm and organic sounding
