In Windows Explorer, and option would be to do a "*.*" or even "*.dll" search of the C:\Program Files\Cakewalk (or just Vstplugins subfolder, if no ProChannels added) and order them by creation date (you may need to right click the header and add this column). That search will drill into any subfolders contained, so use the highest level as applicable.

The new VSTs are updates to ones that already exist, so they should already be in your custom layout from before.

It said there were 5 new ones. That usually means 5 extra.

Not that I necessarily have all the existing ones in the custom layout. I've been migrating my custom layouts from 7 to 8 to 8.5 to X3 and now to Platinum, and it's always been a problem that I have to manually find any new VSTs and add them.

The only manual thing you need to do is Import the new Impulse Responses into REmatrix Solo.

Given that I have no idea what REMatrix Solo is, that is awkward. Is it a ProChannel thing? I don't touch the ProChannel so it doesn't bother me too much, but I don't like the fact that we have this new automatic installer which only really half-installs things.

Unfortunately that shows me no new .dlls or even any altered ones, sorry.

A few pc modules have been updated (date-wise) and that's what the new ones are.

They show up in the initial plugin scan? That's confusing.

Yes, PC modules are modified VST2 plug-ins which need to be scanned.

So that makes matters worse, as even the scan result is no good indication of whether I need to hunt around and find new plugins.

Any of the developers have anything to say on this? I can't believe everybody is struggling on with the alphabetical menu so either the only sane thing to do is use a default which is being magically and carefully merged with each update (seems unlikely), or they truly do expect us to dig through the filesystem or the plugin manager and play Hunt The VST once a month.

The release PDF would be a good place to start http://static.cakewalk.co..._Braintree_Release.pdf

The only plug-in that's new is the Boz ProChannel Bark of Dog, so I don't know why it's showing 5 new effects. And that wouldn't show up in a custom menu anyway because it's a ProChannel effect, so nothing specifically in this update has done anything that would alter your custom plug-in menu.

IR responses are samples for loading into convolution reverbs, you're not limited to using them with the ProChannel REmatrix. I'll install Braintree tonight and see what happens, but the ProChannel presets should show up with your other ProChannel presets. The new CA-X should appear with my other amps, and VoxTools with my other effects. The Rapture Expansion Pack should be in Rapture's browser along with the other Rapture presets.

Mine also showed 5 new effects after updating Plat.

I'm guessing the 5 new updates may be the 4 Studio Instrument plus the Cakewalk Sound Center updates?
