So.... After 194 replies on this thread, I'm not hearing anybody raving about this plugin. No one calling it a must have. Is it just a so-so plugin, or nothing special compared to what we already have, or is it's greatness being overshadowed by all the off topic complaints about it not being free??

Sometimes you buy a plugin for transparency... sometimes you buy for color.
This is one that you buy for color... and a nice color it is.

My favorite use is on my bass tracks combined with Boz's free Bark of Dog plugin. Never, with such ease, have I been able to consistently sit a bass perfectly within a mix yet at the same time have it pop with such clarity. I also love what it does with acoustic guitars.

It's not something I would put on every track. I think of it this way. Those classic recordings I love were mostly analog, and a studio may only have 1 Vocal Stresser (the hardware this plugin is modeled after). They also only had 1 or 2 LA-2A's, or 1176's as well. The console strips would do the majority of the work, and these special devices would be used to make a single part "stand out" in a really good way. If you put this stuff on everything, then nothing will stand out... Just my 2 cents...

So I am using Sonar x1d Producer without the Expander.  So, I can use this as a regular VST plug-in, right?

Yes, the VST2 format is included

So, I downloaded the demo and am trying it out. So far, I'm pretty impressed. Am I $100 worth of impressed for adding yet another comp and EQ? Ehhhhhhh..... If it were just a stand alone VST, probably not. But, since it includes a Pro Channel version, yes, I think I'll be buying it.
Other than the CA2A (Which is awesome!), I'm just not overwhelmed with the other Pro Channel compressors. So to be able to have another good compressor and another/different EQ in my Pro Channel.... Yeah!

A nice comparison of the +10db against some similar plugins:

OK, I bought the Plus 10 Bundle! Liking it very much however.... where is the Pro Channel module?? The VST2 and VST3 versions are there but, no Pro Channel module! Is there something special I have to do to make it appear?

Hi Rod,

Silly question, Did you choose the Prochannel module during the install? Also the Prochannel is only 64 bit per what I saw. IHTH...

Purchased the bundle from the Cakewalk store. It's supposed to include VST and Pro Channel versions. The Pro Channel versions do not show up at all.

So did you answer the above question? Did you in fact install the PC versions?

It said "VST/PC". It was actually the only choice I saw.
