So, if bought directly from BOZ, do we get all the formats including PC?  If I buy from SONAR in addition to PC, do we get the other formats for use in other environments?

Just asking,
JIm

I believe that is the case but I'll check with Boz on that.

Absolutely YES.

Kind of sucks though that you've so recently been pushing what amounts to half an upgrade based on promises of future goodies over the coming year and yet the first thing you announce has a price tag that's almost as much as people just paid for the upgrade ??

Consider this:

"You can purchase the bundle today for only $99 and that includes all Mac/PC formats (VST, VST3, AU, AAX, RTAS and ProChannel)."

Please be aware that Cakewalk sells products other than SONAR. The CA-2A is cross-platform and has sold very well because, well, it's pretty awesome. Cakewalk is clearly interested in offering something to Mac and non-SONAR users, while offering the bonus of ProChannel support if you are a SONAR user.

This is very different from a Cakewalk-created upgrade to SONAR that's part of the membership program.

As to the cost, I can quibble over whether a price that's 66% of the upgrade is "almost" as much, but Cakewalk is not going to undercut Boz Digital Labs' pricing. However, you DO receive a ProChannel version, which the Boz package does not include. [edit: apparently now it does]

Yeah fair dues Craig. And I might add even though a ProChannel version is on their website, it will be CW who continue to provide support. And right there is the value-add for buyers.

TBH, having a matching price is quite fair in my book, folks do not seem to appreciate the "extra, over and above" is the Pro Channel support.

I just hope I can get the $'s together before the special ends! Good drum EQ's  and Compressors are few and far between!

Nice to see more third party support for PC.
Keep 'em coming...

Cake-ites unite....tomorrow....

Seriously...I waited to buy hoping that Cake would have a better price...

They lose...I'll buy from Boz and give him the money....

I don't HAVE to support anyone...but, if the price is the SAME...I'll support
the developer...

Cheers!

All I wanted was the compressor, so $65 was a sweet deal by my standards. This plugin is far better than anything already native to Sonar.

Make sure of course, you don't accidentally use it in the ProChannel  (wink)

Had a look at the Boz site, only sells in dollors, so $99.00 plus a a cuouple more for a Foreign payment on my UK card.

Had a look on the Cake site, and because I am in Vietnam and I can't pay in Dong, it defaults to Dollors, so same deal. When I change to UK pricing I avoid the Foreign Charge to my card, but hit a VAT.

What's to stop Non US customers choosing paying in dollors to avoid local taxation to the cost of a foreign transaction cost. Is it just an expectation of honesty? Am I expected to declare to the Vietnamese government my download?

EDIT: New cakewalk store payment option looks tidy

What in particular do you like about this comp over the other ones native to Sonar?

Can we get screenshots of the PC modules. The only one I can find is the compressor.

Mostly the fact it doesn't squash the audio. It doesn't "feel" like a compressor until you overdo it.
