Not convinced I need another comp/ eq even if it does look nice and support the ProChannel.

I've been reading alot of feed back, it being rated as great on Vocals, Bass, Individual drums and a drum buss. Is this thing going to end up on everything

Just a quick pseudo-review here. I bought it and like it quite a bit. Haven't played with the EQ much (though the idea of bands in parallel instead of serial merits spending some time), but the compressor is a fairly different beast than any of the other comps I own. The hardware it's modeled off is a FET compressor, so it does that "FET thing" with the high-mids, but it's slow. The fastest attack is slower than the fastest attack on my SSL (.25 on the Bendeth, .1 on the SSL) and the release also goes slower than the SSL; slowest setting on the SSL is 1.6, 3.2 on the Bendeth. And of course that's nowhere near as fast as my 1176's. It's actually tough to describe what it's like, because I don't think I have anything quite like it. I spent some time with other compressors...1176's (both real and virtual), SSL, Distressors, Tonelux, PSP, Waves, yada yada yada, and I can't find anything quite like it. I think it's something about the attack and release curves, but I could be wrong.

Anyway, I like it...it's a nice color to add to the palette. You can push it pretty hard, and it really brings up room tones on drums in a nice way. I spent a few minutes with Superior Drummer with some added roomy-ness from ReMatrix and I pretty quickly figured out why it's advertised as (part of) that "When The Levee Breaks" sound. I may be a compressor nerd, but I think it's pretty cool.

Nice addition to the bakery, Cake.

PS - Did I really just use "yada yada yada" in a written post? *sigh* I gotta quit watching Seinfeld reruns.

EDIT - the more I listen to it the more I think it's something about the release curve. When you speed up the release to really bring up the room sound it does something that ends up being almost like pre-delay on a reverb. I really like it...

Australian exchange rate is so poor at the moment USD99 = AUD138. Wasn't that long ago we were 1:1. Getting stuff online from overseas is getting super expensive and hard to afford.

Hi i'm checked my profile in boz digital and there is an update 1.04....maybe is the pc version!!!!
I'm working on my last live deep house prj and i have changed all my tracks settings adding +10db at drums, live bass, vocals and guitars tracks.
I had not any problems to found the right sound.....i'm very satisfied with the bass line....incredible body of fundamentals freqs and, with comp in pre, awesome transients, smooth but fizzy.
Congrat Boz....i'm in love with this beast.

Seems they have some more plans, so I wonder if they will also be ported to PC format.

Maybe a reason to buy direct from Cakewalk, when the price is the same, as it will show them how many are interested in PC versions.

I don't mean that the BOZ job has a lower value. They did a great job and I would like to buy it but if I pay Sonar upgrade €140 I can't buy a couple of plugins for €100.
I only think that low cost doesn't mean low quality but, often, larger amount of customers...
See what happens for some apple APPS for example...
Platinum flyes!

This may make me sound old but Sonar Platinum (and many other modern DAWs) offer absolutely astounding features for what I would have paid for a four track cassette deck 20 years ago! Expecting Cakewalk to throw in a third party VST bundle for free on top of what Sonar already provides may be somewhat unreasonable.  Please bear in mind that I tend to be very grateful for everything I have in life!

+1 to 1000.  I paid $1200 for my Tascam 122 MKII in 1983.  It was a 3 head cassette deck that let me hear what was actually being recorded on the cassette.  I was producing masters for use in my Otari duplicating system that would record 5 copies with one pass.   It was a fantastic machine which I still have.

So $99 is too much?  Then don't buy it.  IMO Cakewalk has become a major player in the DAW market, and the Pro Channel is one reason why.  BTW I am now 62 and grateful that these plugins are so affordable.
