Just a quick pseudo-review here. I bought it and like it quite a bit. Haven't played with the EQ much (though the idea of bands in parallel instead of serial merits spending some time), but the compressor is a fairly different beast than any of the other comps I own. The hardware it's modeled off is a FET compressor, so it does that "FET thing" with the high-mids, but it's slow. The fastest attack is slower than the fastest attack on my SSL (.25 on the Bendeth, .1 on the SSL) and the release also goes slower than the SSL; slowest setting on the SSL is 1.6, 3.2 on the Bendeth. And of course that's nowhere near as fast as my 1176's. It's actually tough to describe what it's like, because I don't think I have anything quite like it. I spent some time with other compressors...1176's (both real and virtual), SSL, Distressors, Tonelux, PSP, Waves, yada yada yada, and I can't find anything quite like it. I think it's something about the attack and release curves, but I could be wrong.
Anyway, I like it...it's a nice color to add to the palette. You can push it pretty hard, and it really brings up room tones on drums in a nice way. I spent a few minutes with Superior Drummer with some added roomy-ness from ReMatrix and I pretty quickly figured out why it's advertised as (part of) that "When The Levee Breaks" sound. I may be a compressor nerd, but I think it's pretty cool.
Nice addition to the bakery, Cake.

PS - Did I really just use "yada yada yada" in a written post? *sigh* I gotta quit watching Seinfeld reruns.
EDIT - the more I listen to it the more I think it's something about the release curve. When you speed up the release to really bring up the room sound it does something that ends up being almost like pre-delay on a reverb. I really like it...
