I think somehow a few have bought into the idea that the subscription was going to give you additions and updates every month. I don't think there will be much showing up for a while, but what happens over the next twelve months will determine the success of the subscription idea. Time will tell, but patience might be worth considering.

I'm pretty sure there will be a February update, because Cakewalk was bugging me to send in the things I promised for it. They seemed pretty insistent I get the bulk of it in this week.

It seems that this compressor doesnt have simulated distortion so it is another clean comp

I had the impression is does when you drive it. Drive it for drums, clean for vocals.

It's meant to be capable of quite a coloured sound, which means it's not clean as far as I can tell

Or was you hoping for a drive knob?

Sorry but i completely desagree......I have bought it after two days demo....Boz have done an awesome emulation job and the original hardware sat is input knob related......in my opinion the sat is wonderful in eq too...my advice is ,if you want a vintage drum buss sound, pump the input and put down the thresold and set the dry/wet when hear the right sound.
Best

Paulo, I do realize my writing style can often seem curt because I don't have a lot of time. Also it may appear sometimes that I'm "talking down" to someone because I have no idea what their level is or their understanding of the company's product line.  However I can assure you the following was not intended to be "quite arrogant and overly dismissive,"

Ok, fair enough and FWIW I'm definitely way more Bill and Ted than clenched teeth and venom. There's not much, if anything, in life that would ever get me that uptight, least of all and internet forum.

For those that have purchased this, I'd be curious on your thougths re: comparison with the CA2A, even though they're different animals, what are the practical and subjective differences?

This compressor can compress hard by playing with the Input knob. You can then mix in some of the dry signal. It can also add snap on a snare sound. I initially tried it on the drum buss but it pumps a little too much for my taste.

The CA2A is much smoother and doesn't have the dry mix knob.  the CA2A is a leveler, the Bendeth is a compressor

I don't have the Distressor.. :o(  It's not a saturation module if that's the question..

smoother to ME is best.  Dry/mix knob is an easy workaround.  I really like the CA2A.  That with the other PC comps, I'm squashing drums just as needed...plus the Sonitus..  As much as I LIKE the GUI of this new stuff, it almost seems that's the reason I'd buy it....which of course we all know is kinda silly... right? :-)
