Love this compressor and have been using it since it first came out last November.
Thanks Cakewalk for partnering with Boz Digital Labs to bring it out as a Pro Channel module!

Distressor like?

Hi mixmkr,
No, not much like a Distressor. Distressors have much faster attacks (50us to 30ms)...more like what you'd expect from other FET compressors. Beyond that, to my ears at least, the Bendeth just doesn't sound like my Distressors. They're pretty different...there's just something about the release behavior of the Bendeth that is different from any of the compressors I've A/B'd with so far.

Well the discounters don't seem to be carrying this...
so the only 2 places you can buy apparently is
Boz and Cake....

Can we get screenshots of the PC modules. The only one I can find is the compressor.

I was disappointed when I opened up the EQ and Comp in Prochannel. It does not look like the screenshots in the Cakewalk site and eliminates some of the functionality in both modules. In addition, the Expander portion of the Comp/Expander is not shown. If you want the full functionality, you have to open it up in the FX chain, which kind of defeats the purpose of having it a ProChannel module.

I have asked Andrew about this, but he has not replied yet. I'm hoping I did something wrong in the setup.

With ProChannel modules sometimes we do have to make design decisions to make it work in the format. We tested it and found it very functional for the majority of tasks but if you do need the full version, it also includes that format. I'll see if maybe we posted a beta of the compressor on our site but it should be pretty similar. I hope you are enjoying it. We've been using it a lot around the office and love it.

Since this is a VST, will it work with X1d Producer?  I don't have any special Pro Channel modules.

Hi Konradh-

It will work as a VST inside of SONAR. Do you have SONAR X1 Expanded? If so, it will work with that too.

Breverb is another instance.  No big deal.  The basic controls are there in the PC and if you want/need more... you can do something like put the fuller version in a BUSS FX, FX bin, etc.

I guess they could take up quite a bit more space on the PC module, but I imagine there's more coding involved as well to put complete version of some items in the PC.

Andrew,
I spent about 6 hrs using this tool experimenting on some drum tracks today, and I'm really starting to like it. I understand that their is only so much real estate in ProChannel, and designing stuff is a trade off. I see now that the essentials for what I am doing is in the PC module.

Thanks for getting back.

For large footprint plug-ins maybe the fly-out tech from the Quad Curve EQ could be used.

Glad you are enjoying it. It's a cool plugin for sure.
