I've just tried it. I can draw in the first take lane but only that one. Adding lanes makes no difference it always draws in the first created lane, not sure if that's by design or a bug though.
Hi Karl-
Thanks for checking. I thought I might be able to use Take Lanes for things like keyswitches or Strum Acoustic/RealGuitar strums, etc. in MIDI tracks, but I think that might be a dead end. At this point they really do seem more designed for audio, esp. comping (hence the name, I suppose

.) I was basically gone for the whole layers v. lanes debate.
I guess I can't report it as a bug, but I can't think of a reason for it to be by design, either. Maybe I'll make a feature request. I already submitted one about being able to Hide Muted Take Lanes in the PRV (
http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3175983). I think Take Lanes could be made much more MIDI-friendly with just a few changes.
Thanks again-
-Susan
Edit: BTW, thanks for clarifying that it does work in the 1st Take Lane. I've changed the subject to reflect that.
