Hi guys, As i have just retired i bought Sonar Professional to do some recording (bedroom) . I have not done any since sonar8 so I am a bit rusty with the new features on Professional, however my main problem is getting my Line6 kb37 to play any synths. How do I get the kb37 to actually play any of the synths, I have tried everything. Sorry if its a stupid question but any help would be appreciated.

The simple answer is set the input of a MIDI track to your KB37; set that track's output to your soft synth.
First, though, Windows has to 'see' the keyboard's drivers in order for SONAR to use it.
Press 'P' on the computer keyboard and tell us what is listed under Audio>Playback and Recording and MIDI>Devices.
B. Have you Inserted a soft synth?
3. Is the Input Echo button in the MIDI track on?

Hi greg, thanks for replying. Under playback and recording it says asio (drive mode)  dithering(triangular)
Use multiprocessing engine, use mmcss, always stream audio through fx. Kb37 is listed in input drivers and output drivers. I click on soft synths and then click on one and it comes onto another track.

Also check in preferences under MIDI devices to make sure the KB37 is enabled. What you're describing is covering the KB37's audio capabilities.

In the Insert Soft Synth options, I think 'Create MIDI Source Track' is checked by default.
This will insert the synth and a new MIDI track with it's output set to the synth.
If you already have a MIDI track with data in it, uncheck that box (as in the image) then change your MIDI track's output to the synth.
