Ever since I installed X3e, when I try to insert ezdrummer, it isn't on the list of vst's.  I have the vst scan set to:

c:\program files\cakewalk\vstplugins\toontrack\64bit    -  (this folder contains ezdrummer.dll
AND
c:\program files (x86)\toontrack\ezdrummer  -    (this folder contains all of the ezdrummer files)

The Cakewalk Projects that already contain ezdrummer still play as desired, I just can't insert another ezdrummer synth into any project files.

FYI, I have the VST scan set to all the other vst locations also.

What am I missing?

Thanks in advance

Tom

It may be in the plug-in list as "Dfh sampler" an old name for EZD. EZDrummer name need to be updated.

Can you shoot a screenshot of your scan paths in the Plugin Manager and post it to where we can see where Cakewalk is looking for VSTs?

Wow, thanks.  Even when it is loaded into the synth rack it is called Dfh sampler.  I have all the kits that I bought though, so I guess everything is all right.  I wonder why it changed its name just with X3e?

Anyway, thanks scook.

There was a change in VST naming in X2 along with the introduction of the Cakewalk ini variable VSTPluginNameFormat see http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation/default.aspx?Doc=SONAR%20X3&Lang=EN&Req=INI_Files.4.html for more information. The 64bit v1.3.3 of EZD shows up as EZdrummer. I don't know when the name change was made by Toontrack.

Let's see if I understand this.  According to the the post, Cakewalk.ini the VSTPluginNameFormat integer options are:
0 = VST Name
1 = DLL Name
2 = VST Name (DLL Name)
3 = DLL Name (VST Name)

If I were to change the integer from "0" to "1" will it use the file name of the of the DLL?  The 64bit DLL name is "ezdrummer.dll.

thanks

Be careful if you have any Waves plugins as it will prepend A huge long name before the actual name of the dll

Best option I found with having waves is to use option 2.

It only takes a few seconds to try each one out if you need to see for yourself.

Yes, test them. The default setting works for me so have not bothered messing with the variable. As I mentioned above the later versions of EZDrummer1 work as expected with the default setting.
