Hi

I'm a newbie at Sonar.

I'm currently using Sonar Professional.

I'd like to check if there's a way to bounce only a selected region of the entire mix. I have a live gig to mix and the performance in multiple tracks is almost 2hrs. I would like to bounce out only a couple of songs from the entire performance to send to my client.
Is there a way to bounce a selected region of the entire mix?

I've tried looking at the help and it seems like I cant find what I'm looking for.

Any help is appreciated.

Thank you :)

Yes bounce is completely selection based. So you can simply select what you want to export. The easiest way to do this:

- Add markers to indicate the start and end of each song
- Open the markers view (alt-shift-4)
- Click on a marker which will select the region between that and the next marker
- File Export Audio

Thank you for the reply Noel

I followed your instructions and oddly I get an alert saying the region I selected has no audio. Only the contrary I do have audio in the region between my two markers as shown in the screenshot. Any reason for this?

Yes you need to select the tracks you wish included as well. If you want all tracks you can press CTRL-A before selecting a marker to include that region across all tracks.

Thanks for your help. I've selected all the tracks and I'm trying to bounce it out. Seems to be working.

Unfortunately Prakash you can not post links until you post count is higher there may also be a slight problem with the lower part of the image, which is probably advertising, as I tried to post the link for you but it failed also.

Try a different picture hosting site like flicker or photobucket

I often put markers on either side of a region I want to bounce. Then I can do ctrl+a to select all tracks in track view (with the focus on the tracks not the buses) and then click between the markers. This sets the selection range.

Thanks everyone it finally worked. Apparently I didnt have to do a Ctrl + A to select all tracks. When I selected between the two markers all tracks were automatically selected and I managed to bounce the selected region.

Shift+G is goto From. It takes you to the beginning of a selected region. This is useful for marking the beginning of a clip.

Click the clip (this selects the region), hit shift+g, hit M to add marker.

In preferences > Keyboard Shortcuts, I map ctrl+shift+g to GO TO THRU. This enables me to go right to the end of a clip and add a marker the same as I do for the beginning.

Just a handy thing I like. This is kinda related to the first thing you asked about from my perspective.
