To whom it may concern:

1: The official interpretation of "Grace" is... 'Undeserved' kindness. Without this, NONE OF US would be sane, believe me!

2: Love shall cover a multitude of sins... Love is 'kind', love suffers long, thinks no evil, is not provoked! TRUE LOVE NEVER FAILS!

3: Forbearance... lenience; not dealing with someone according to the measure of their sins, knowing that we too need forbearance from others.

4: Mercy... compassion or forgiveness shown toward someone who stands no chance otherwise. For he shall have judgement without mercy, who has showed no mercy.

If you don't have one or any of the above within you, then i exhort you, please try! A withering flower or a scorched blade of grass just need a little bit of water and a little bit of sunshine.
Some of our fellow human beings are in grave need of genuine help and compassion and some measure of tolerance, and they may be isolated and have nowhere to turn. Please consult your conscience, i beg of you.

What is your point?
A jerk really isn't a jerk?

Someone who lies and misleads intentionally to cause others stress or harm needs compassion?

Re-registering multiple times so you can expand on your hate and misinformation  full of harmful intentions is OK in your book?

I could go on but I am tired

I for one am impressed with the OP. He/she may only have made one post in 28 years but there's more inaccuracies in it than most people could manage posting a hundred times a day for 28 years. That takes some doing.

One post in 28 years?

At least it will be archived and we can bookmark it.

This would be fine and dandy if we were talking about sins. This guy did not come on here confessing his lust for his for his neighbor's wife or skimping on tithing. He came to publicly be a jerk and make insulting accusations. Quite possibly ( and very likely based on a set of known factors) is just trolling. If he wants grace, he can go to jesusdiedsoicantroll.com.

Yes, one post in all of this time. And when I see how rude people can be, I am glad of it.
$149 to upgrade for one year and $20 a month each and every month after that is not cheap.  it cost me $149 to upgrade to X3 14 months ago. So, if the current plan had been in place then it would have cost me $280 since then to stay current. That is a significant price increase. I object to paying the monthly fee. And I object to no support unless I pay the monthly fee. I don't agree with that way of doing business.

Right on.

I've been using Cakewalk since 1989 myself- the license was purchased by the recording studio at the time and I used Cakewalk for windows until about 1998 when that  very expensive laptop went down...  I jumped back on with Sonar 7.  ...anyway...

I think I'm gonna like the new subscription program.  As long as it stays reasonably priced.  I spent the mid 90's through 2003 working for a software company.  I know what those guys go through.  So I'm ok with funding them a bit more often so they can throw some cash into faster development.  ...just my two cents!  oh, and I make a living with Sonar!

I have been using Cakewalk products since the 1980s, starting with the Cakewalk 1.0 sequencer.
Currently I use Sonar X3.
I am totally opposed to the new subscription program for Sonar Platinum.  It is a blatant cash grab.
My philosophy is that I do not do business with people who want to rip me off. No ifs, ands or buts.
This will be the end of my 28 year relationship with Cakewalk.

I haven't replied to one poster in a while .. this should be fun;

Welcome to 2015.  Everybody's doing subscriptions - Adobe, Avon (Avid), Apple, Sony - I'll bet you even have a cell phone with a monthly plan.  The CakeFolks are worlds beyond all of the forementioned folks in that with the Cake plan you can keep your products after 12 months or your first annual subscription.  Bounce over to Adobe's site and you'll see they ended that this month forever.  Sonar is the best deal, best company, best forum and best pricing model in the industry.  I too had Cake 1.0 for DOS.  I probably still have the 5 1/4" floppy somewhere - with the subscription plan they are offering today I could still have that software as well thirty years from now.

I'll bet you that Starbucks goes subscription in less than 3 years as well

This makes it sound like you pay an upgrade for $149 and pay $20/ month which is untrue. It's one or the other. Just forget about the monthly and pay like you always have. NO CHANGE. As for Cakewalk support I've never known of a case where someone with a legit copy of Sonar hasn't got tech support, no matter the version.

However, tech support is only really owed those on the current version. Cakewalk goes out of their way to support people. Even with the change in organising of the forum, Cakewalk acknowledges that by putting all the Sonar forums together so that those with earlier than current versions can get help here too.

Sorry but there is no subscription. CW is calling the system that will provide patches and added content a membership. They are also as an option offering credit if the user can't pay the lump sum price. They are also entitled to the membership as long as they keep paying the monthly payment. When paid in full its theirs forever. Just as if they had paid the full price up front.
