They've got my Winter, I want it back dammit! Here, much further north in Calgary Alberta, Canada we've been getting unseasonably warm weather more suited to late March - early April.

After snow blowing 3 days ago with a temp of 5 °F and again today at a temp of 9°F I would gladly give you back your winter!

Maybe your Flames are so hot that it is causing the cold weather down here in Sabre country!

Has there been inclement weather back east? Hadn't notice since it's been so unseasonably warm (in the 60's/70's) here in the SF bay area of Northern California.

Wow! I'm surprised that no one's played ping pong with this post yet...

Yeah, our weather has been great, but we're running out of water....  And lousy skiing the past 3 years.  I'm guessing we'll get little sympathy from the rest of the country :)

I'm not at all worried about Bostoners.  They've been getting snowed under since forever.  If anybody's used to it, they are (maybe not as much as Buffalo).

Well guys, I live in the San Diego area of southern California. About 15 or 20 miles east of the San Diego city limits. Those 15-20 miles really make a difference with our micro-climate here.

With the exception of the last few days, every day in February has hit highs in the 80's and 90's Fahrenheit. The last few days have only registered in the 70's for highs. Our lows have been in the 60's.

I have taken a few days off this week and when I went to pick up my son from school, I was wearing shorts and a T-shirt and even ran the air conditioner while waiting in the hot sun.

It seems a world away when I see pictures of blizzards from the eastern side. Well, maybe I'll take the boy to the beach this weekend.

-13 tonight.

Me and Captain Morgan are watching Galavant. Via Hulu.

=====================

My son is close to the southern end of the Appalachian Trail. He started in Maine in June. Currently stuck just north of Georgia. He thought he would be done by now. But obviously global warming (and/or Loki) has intervened.

For the past two weeks he has been hanging with a family letting him use the apartment above their garage.

He has met many great people. With some sharing weeks of travel.

Along the trail are caches of food and supplies. Take some, leave some.

Signs are posted offering food and board for help to do, fix, and/or,...  On farms and other's places near the trail. Cheap labor. New conversation. News from far away in place and time.

My son is 44. He has experience with remodeling, damage restoration, cooking, computer use, repair, support, gaming, and strumming. He is an informed conspiracist with a great sense of humor. And all of the rest of it.

Writing that makes me think of one of Heinlein's quotes:

"A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects."―  Robert Anson Heinlein (1907 to 1988) in the Sayings of Lazarus Long interlude in Time Enough for Love (1973) also later published in The Notebooks of Lazarus Long

=====================

Last night when I lay to sleep it was 1983.
I remember it all.

I tell every person I have occasion, "Thirty years will pass before your next breath. Try to do what you yearn for. Question every urge to veer from that path."

"As Joseph Campbell told us, "Follow  your bliss."

Yeah, it sounds a little Baba Ram Das, but truly, "There is only now."

============================================

Obviously the Captain has gotten the best of this mental degradation.

And also obviously, at this moment, to be able to demonstrate that I can continue to read the screen and add characters is an example of why the knowledge of how to use a QWERTY keyboard should be one of the first physical abilities to be blocked from access by the frontal lobes.

I mean, Just because I can think it does not mean I should be able to communicate it.

===================

I am a man, and I can do what I want!

Weather has been pretty bad but what's been more of an issue is the public transportation disruption as a result of the snow. We are definitely no strangers to snow but nothing like what we have seen the past few weeks.
