Lipscomb is onto something here, if you focus on the problem - deleting midi tracks - rather than the symptom - crashes.  I had a bery similar problem related to deleting midi tracks when instruments were involved just last night.   Mine did not crash, rather just got confused in some way about deleting the midi tracks and did all kinds of wrong headed stuff like deleting other tracks instead, sometimes combinations of tracks.  When I deleted the instrument track, everything started working again. This was a simple project with about 3 tracks to test an idea.

My original post was negative so I changed it to say NIEL YOUNG FTW!!!

I hope you get your problem sorted out.

I realise you are venting but if you took the time to explain exactly what the problem is, list your specs, and what you've tried so far. Your more likely to get help, assuming that's what you want of course.

I think it's fair to say that if Sonar crashed everytime someone deleted a track it'd hardly have lasted this long, which tends to suggest that there's something specific to your system causing it.

You've two choices really try and track down and fix the problem or move on to something else that works for you. Declaring something that many of us use without an issue as 'crap' is probably not the best way to get a result. My tuppence worth........

Re-installed, managed to get asio drivers working (downloaded updated version of drivers for Quad card,) crossing my fingers things run smoothly from here on in. Sorry about the rant last night people, I spend so much time on my computer and I've wasted so much time in my life fighting it that I guess my fuse is a little short. Will post back soon to see if werid sonar problems persist.

It's still worth trying the instrument track delete again… as other's have said, may be some known issues with instrument/MIDI tracks… Let us know what you get…

You have an operator problem....not a software issue. Good luck. Not a cool way to enter a forum.
