  • [Solved] New workflow with MixRecall

Hi there,
just came across a little new workflow I guess using Mixrecall...
It seems that mixrecall only works if one doesn't actually click on the Save file option and just keep switching between the different mixes, but as soon as you hit the File Save, it physically saves your mix as is and no more switching back and forth between mix recalls...
unless I am doing this wrong, I thought no matter if one actually saves the file, one could switch between different mixes...If maybe Craig can jump in here and let me know, I would appreciate it..
Btw...I was switching between different versions of a female sample and I thought I had better save the file before something happens. After saving the file, I was not able to switch between the different mixes anymore..

Is Craig out there to confirm this???:)

Saving the project file has no impact on switching mix scenes since scenes themselves are independent of the project file. Only the list of scenes is stored in the project.
Do you have "auto save when switching mix scenes" enabled in the mix recall preferences? Perhaps you are overwriting your mix scenes unintentionally?

Yes, I did have that enabled by default...I will uncheck it and play with mix recall some more..
Thanks so much Noel...
You guys rock and have outdone yourselves with this version of Sonar:)

I agree, the Bakers really came through. The more I use Platinum, the more I realize how much more solid it is, and how much the new features make a difference.

I totally agree here. I really didn't think I would have used the Mix Recall feature, but it really has become one of my favorite part of the upgrade.

HI there again guys...
I have been playing with mix recall and my question to you guys is does mix recall not save for example, I inserted a soft sythn, recorded something and saved that mix...
then I decided I did not like that soft sythn and inserted a new one, recorded that and saved that as a new mix recall scene, but it seems it's not saving the newly inserted sythn, recordings I do...
is mix recall only good for FX, automation, volume changes, etc?????
If it doesn't do this, I will put in the suggestion box for a future feature request

Mix recall will save your mix not your recordings.
If you save scenes with soft synths it will restore the settings for any of the synths referenced by the scene that are present in the project into which you are restoring the scene. You cannot use it to restore a synth that is NOT present in the project. This is because there is no way to automatically correlate what tracks would need to be connected to that synth.

I can't speak for Noel but I don't think a feature request would get that far...you'd be asking Mix Recall to become Project Recall, and there's already Save As.. or Save A Copy for that functionality.
