When you activated Sonar, did you use the Command Center?  If so, did you activate/install everything (plugins, soft synths, etc.) listed under Sonar Platinum?

If not, you should re-open Command Center and I'm betting you'll notice that only Sonar Platinum has a green light next to it and not all of it's sub categories.  You'll have to download/activate each element to have Platinum fully engaged.

Okay Thanks I did notice that and thought it may be something to do with it although I had started to go over the existing pre installed via the command center , although dimension and String section etc, still are silent no sound, will continue and sort out the green lights for all parts and see what happens,

Thanks Mojo.

The same exact thing happened to me yesterday. I posted a thread "Registration/Demo Mode help" but didn't get any replies, maybe because the title wasn't as explicit as yours but anyhow this is the reply I received from Cakewalk support for the issue.
First, open up the Cakewalk Command Center. If you're logged in, log out and then log back in. Otherwise, simply log in. Once the Command Center has done its scan for updates, try launching SONAR.

The Demo pop up started going away before i tried the fix so I don't know if it helped or not. I'm not sure if it will come back because I haven't been using the program much at all. My question is how do you know whether your copy is registered or not? If I try to register it a message pops up telling me it's already registered.  My older versions like  X1 Producer,Studio,Home Studio,Pro Audio ... show my serial & registration codes on my account but only the serial number on my upgrade to Professional. For anyone reading this, where do you see a registration code or do you not see it anywhere?

Registration codes are managed automatic in Command Center.

I keep hearing stuff like that but what does it really mean.
Is there any place that actually tells you your product is registered or do we just hope that it is?

I'm pretty sure this is incorrect advice.
OP's problem is more likely that he is using SONAR on a non-internet connected machine and is encountering a bug in the activation logic that will - I hear - be fixed in the next update.

I think you're right about the advice being incorrect but it also happened to me while I was connected so it's not just non-internet connected machines. Everything in the command center was checked in green when my "running in Demo mode" started popping up.

I posted about it yesterday, also. I've installed everything, and it said that it was registered for the two weeks before that, which is when I started my subscription. I'm always connected to the internet. If you look at the "about" screen for Sonar, it'll show your license number, and that means you're registered. I filed a problem report, but have yet to hear anything back.

I stand corrected. I may have misunderstood the root cause as it was originally explained. I'm glad I haven't encountered this problem yet (knock on wood) as I also use an internet-connected DAW.
