Hi friends,  I'm asked to make a project with a grid mode and this is something I don't know about.  I will be searching every where and here is my first spep.  Maybe I will save alot of time and errors by doing this.

My program is in french so the words grid is not there.  If you can just give me a single cue to show me where to start, it will be very mych appreciate.
TY (as usual)

Sounds like maybe you mean the Piano Roll. Hit Alt+3 with a MIDI track selected (Insert > MIDI Track if you don't already have one showing). Then drag the top of the view larger as necessary or Shift+D to maximize it.

Incidentally, Alt+3 = Views > Piano Roll

What comes to mind is that Sonar has a grid based on measures. What they may want is quantized MIDI fit to a grid. (Snap to grid) On the other hand I have never heard the term "grid mode" before. So I don't know what is meant by the term.

Also you can display a grid in the Track View with the View menu.

I thought of that too. I just don't see how that is of any use to a third party?

Thank's gails for the input.  I Google it and it brought me to a u-tube Pro-tool9 tutorial.  The gail explained this grid mode that must be what I'm looking for.  Maybe, it could be the audio snap in Sonar.  I'm not sure but I keep searching...

The project I'm working on ask me to put different sample together.  They send me snare, kick and HH samples that I have to put together utilising a grid mode.

It appears to be an editing mode in PT. Not unlike snap to grid in Sonar.
